16 years of waiting

16 years is a long time. It has been 16 years since I made a promise with a best friend to stay silent. All these years have gone by that have led up to today. In two hours I will be sitting across from this childhood friend and her mother. I am never at a loss for words but this morning I am. I have no idea how the morning will play out but I can only pray that God be with us through it all.
“Christ gives us strength and comfort and hope. Regardless of the past, He will be with us as we move forward. As scripture tells us; He was “a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief” (Isaiah 53:3)
“God promises that he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation” (Peter 5:10)
“Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.” (Pslam 55:4-5)

It is a beautiful clear sunny September day today. God has foreseen this day my entire life and I hold on to my great faith he will see me through it.
