First Lady talks about the importance of awareness
KTVA Anchorage CBS11 – It’s known as Erin’s Law or the Alaska Safe Children’s Act.
The measure is named after Erin Merryn, a survivor of Child Sexual Abuse. It’s part of a national campaign to make sure each state has a law requiring schools to teach children about how to protect themselves from predators.
In January, Governor Bill Walker promised to sign Erin’s Law if the legislature passed one. When that didn’t happen, he included it in his agenda for the special session.
