Germantown native and Oakland University women’s basketball coach Beckie Francis reveals childhood sexual abuse (video)

(DAILY FREEMAN) KINGSTON N.Y. – Beckie Francis, a Germantown, N.Y., native and the women’s basketball coach at Oakland University, has revealed that she’s the survivor of childhood sexual abuse.

In an Associated Press story this week, Francis said her now-deceased father sexually abused her from the age of 4 until the seventh grade.

“It irritates me (and) makes me angry whenever I hear in a media report about sexual child abuse, because it’s going on everywhere, not just one university or one church or one type of church,” Francis said Thursday.
